More Art Please
This Initiative aims to stimulate awareness and action within the city of Toronto regarding the need for more public art to further enhance the experience of living in the city and to honor all the wonderful artists currently creating public art. In tandem with this initiative, we will also be identifying areas where art could transform and inspire a better city-wide living experience.
Stay tuned for some great work that artists are currently doing in inspiring us through Public Art.

We headed north on York St from Queens Quay West. As we passed the 10 York St Condos we were pretty impressed with the creative way in which the designer used this cool stone furniture to help keep traffic and parking out of specific areas around the condo. Very clever. Sadly as we headed north to check out the great new ScotiaBank Arena sign, we stumbled upon these horrible cement blocks that are being used to keep traffic off of the public area. What a sad mess to pass as we headed up to see the new signage (which we loved).
We are thrilled about the City of Toronto's initiative called STREET ART TORONTO. This weeks Art walk took us west on Richmond St. from University Ave, where we discovered the fun bike lane barriers which were created by local artists as part of Street Art Toronto.
We hope Street Art Toronto will bring some creativity to the not so pleasant traffic barriers that line up along the front of what is a stunning Union Station promenade. The barrier's have been there for years and really destroy the beauty of one of Toronto's most frequented destinations.
We noticed this truck with beautiful curated graffiti work. We would love to see more businesses utilize local artists to advertise on their trucks. They really stand out!
Congrats to artist Julia Prajza, @juliaprajza the StreetArts and Parks team, DM Ana Bailão, Little Portugal BIA and #ArtworxTO.
Huge thanks to Sally Han for the great picture of this wonderful art piece and for her incredible work as Manager, Cultural Partnerships at the City of Toronto.
